Peter Selby was born 8th November 1943, and it is not surprising therefore that he has been strongly influenced by the big bands and swing era - music of his youth.

Having purchased his first accordion at the age of 17, he fell in love with the French style of playing and in particular the style of Albert Delroy - probably the leading authority on the Musette accordion and who in later years was to become his teacher.

Peter Selby is an accomplished accordionist and apart from French and Continental music he is perfectly at home with all styles and types of music from "Bistro to Big Band".

Peter's unique style is an instant hit with all age groups and audiences, adapting perfectly to audience request: - Pop, Country, Evergreens, Sing Along, Cabaret, Stage Show, Strict Tempo and Romantic Background music (Styles for all occasions).

Peter is also an accomplished vocalist with a repertoire containing all of the above genre of music (Pop, Country, Evergreen Standards, and Sing Along Classics).

Achievements are wide and varied, from Clubs, Cabaret, Weddings, Promotional Functions, Private Garden Parties, Studio Recordings, to prestigious events like Pavarotti in The Park, channel four's a place in the sun promotional events at London's EXCEL centre, and Millenium Eve in Narbonne (South West France).

Peter is a firm believer in taking advantage of modern technology - it will be no surprise therefore that his present instruments and equipment take advantage of the latest sampled sounds and computer technology, as well as those haunting reeds of the traditional accordion.
